Wedding Day LO

This layout was for my Serendipity Scrapbooks, Sketch-a-pa-looza, challenge this weekend. It is a "chalkboard" challenge. Since I'm a teacher and for back to school I am challenging everyone to create a layout using Black and White with only ONE accent color. There are some EXTRA challenges if you wanna head over to the crop forum HERE. They include a sketch, photo option, and a cool technique with a step by step tutorial! So about the layout. These are photos of my son at MY wedding. He was almost 2 and was our ring bearer. It was a very special day for all of us! He stole the show throwing the pillow down the aisle and then later tearing it up on the dance floor! I used a transparency on the bottom middle photo to focus in on him. I also got to try out Ghost Letters finally! Very fun! I inked up the edges with Stazon for a cool effect. A simple layout but with all those photos I didn't want to overcrowd it! I also used my Making Memories tiny alphas - I {heart} those little booggers!!!!!
This is a close up of the top left corner where I followed the scallop for the date and his age. And isn't that a great pic of him and my dad?! It's the only picture that his flower made it into!!!! It didn't last very long! Well thanks for looking and go check out my challenge and the others for some scrappy inspiration this weekend! Heck you might even win something!

Tools:
PP: unknown
CS: Bazzill
Overlay -hmmm Hambly I think
Stamps: Simple Delights
Ink: White Craft, Stazon, Black Journaling Marker
Other: Ribbon from Wedding Aisle at HL, Circle Punch, MM Tiny alphas white on black, Heidi Swapp Ghost Letters

I love HAPPY mail!!!

Lookie lookie what I got in the mail!!!!!!!!! My new Just Rite DIY prodcuts and the PTI set I won from Ali Miles (more on it later). I actually got them some time last week but have been too insanely busy to do anything! I know I know I say that I'm insane alot *snicker* but unless you have:
2 kids 4 and under
a job in a town different from the one you live in
a husband that works 4-12 and is off on Wednesday and Thursday
a job where you leave for work at 6:45 and get home hopefully by 5pm (and get paid next to nothing)
a kid in swimming lessons AND soccer of which you have just been made coach
on a Design Team
Co-Coordinating VSBN on SCS
relatives that like to stop by, or ones that want to go out to lunch (and your husband doesn't tell you)
a sick babysitter
sick child
a meeting 4 out of 5 nights in a week
severe allergies
all in one week - you just don't understand!

no wonder I can't get to the post office

How to Create and Altered Clipboard

Now I know this is nothing new but I thought I would share it with you! I originally got the idea from SCS! Well not TO alter a clipboard but HOW best to go about it! And if you want to play you can also enter over at Serendipity Scrapbooks to win a nice little RAK from me in their SKETCH-A-PA-LOOZA! Go check it out!

This is a great gift for teachers, coaches or anyone who likes to keep things organized!

STEP ONE) Paint - just liberally apply Making Memories or other acrylic paint with a brush - less coverage will give it a shabby chic look.

STEP TWO) Lay paper of choice on bottom of the front of clipboard and flip over and trace.

STEP THREE) Adhere paper to the font bottom portion of your clipboard using adhesive of choice - can even use the modge podge!

STEP FOUR) Stamp on the top half of the front of your clipboard using stamp and ink of choice

STEP FIVE) Adhere ribbon of choice across front of clipboard at the edge of paper- cut length longer than needed to wrap around and hide on the back.

STEP SIX) Wrap ribbon around to the back side of clipboard and adhere.

STEP SEVEN) Then trace paper (probably need two sheets) as in step 2 using patterned paper or cardstock of choice.

STEP EIGHT) Cut several lengths of coordinating ribbon and tie to clip portion on the front of clipboard - trim excess

STEP NINE) Punch out scalloped circle, plain circle (stamped with initial of choice) and adhere to front bottom right corner of clipboard. Ink edges and give a liberal coat of modge podge to seal and help it last a long time!
Then you will have your finished project.

These are the basic steps in creating an altered clipboard. You can add to this base. If adding "lumpy" embellishments the front is ok if it is designed for decoration but if someone is going to use it like a teacher I suggest the back so they can still write on the front.

You can add more or less ribbon - glimmer mist - or sparkle modge podge - use letter stickers on the back to spell out a name or team - even add pictures! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

My Baby Started School Today

Well pre-school actually but still ~ it's the beginning of the end! I can remember like yesterday when he was born and it doesn't seem possible that he's 4 years old and playing T-Ball and Soccer and going to pre-school! It's only one day a week this year as he will go next year also - we are waiting until he's 6 to start Kindergarten! I did manage to drop him off with out crying and only taking a few (dozen) pictures.

Who is the Krafty Mama?

Hi I'm the Krafty one! :) I'm the Queen to 2 little knights and a sweet princess. I married my knight in shining armor (kevlar) over 8 years ago and I am a REAL mom, wife and substitute teacher trying to be the best I can be! I love "krafting" but tend to buy more supplies than I actually use. I love make up, nail polish, hair products and fashion but have been known to leave the house in sweats a messy bun and no make up! I love to cook and bake but am guilty of feeding my kids McDonalds in a pinch. I love direct sales and have joined too many to mention! I would love to get to know you!
