Background Blitz Challenge - Partial Background

I am participating in some of the challenges over at CHF (Cornish Heritage Farms) this week during their Background Blitz. Today's challenge was to partially stamp a backgrounder. This is my card - it uses my favorite backgrounder - polka dots! I used the SU set a new little someone cause I need a baby card - actually I need like 5 but whatever. The backgrounder is stamped in choc chip on bashful blue. The strip of baby food jars was stamped on close to cocoa with choc chip using a SAMJ to line them up - loving this tool! I then used White Gel pen to add an accent. The bunny is stamped in choc chip on whisper white then water colored using close to cocoa and bashful blue. I let it thouroughly dry then used my new Versamark pen and went over the blue bow and dotted the eyes and embossed them using clear embossing powder! How cool is that to emboss just one part of an image! I am easily entertained yes!

Right now until Friday over at CHF (Cornish Heritage Farms) (not the same people who make the hens Heather) all backgrounders will earn you double points! First of all their backgrounders ROCK! And the winner is..................

Sorry it took me so long to draw a winner! It's been craziness around here. And I know you all were just on the edge of your seats waiting! ;) So without anymore delay I cut up the names and put them in a bowl and had Kaden draw a number out and he drew out #4!!!!!!!!!! Paula Laird. So Paula be checking your mailbox your card will be on it's way!

Tonight's the Night!!!!!! PTI Day 5

This is it release night! I don't think I will make it till midnight (which is only 11 here but still). I am just too tired. So here is my final card for this month. Next month will be even more exciting! This is a baby card using the set Just Hatched. I made it for my REAL LIFE friend and fellow teacher Shelly. She is due in June with her 3rd, a boy this time! She has two girls. I am so excited! Blake will have a buddy. I am going to use an egg box to make the rest of part of her gift which is boy scrap stuff cause she doesn't have any! FUN! That will have to be next months release! So on to the card. The base is SU soft sky. I stamped the bird in the circle from the set in soft sky to make a patterned looking paper. The focal image is one of the ovals I just masked off the rest of the words leaving Little One - I wanted Welcome to put on their but I don't have a welcome!!!!! I guess I could have made it using Simple Alphabet - hmmmmmm might have to try that. Anyways, I stamped it in Pallet burnt umber - I just love pallet inks - on soft sky and the used my pink marvy oval punch to punch it out. I punched a SU choc chip scalloped oval out with the purple marvy scalloped oval punch. The wide chocolate grosgrain is behind the ovals with the choc chip one put down on that then the soft sky ribbon on top the choc chip ribbon and oval. I tied it at the edge of oval and focal image is popped up on demensionals. Down in the corner is sentiment Blessed New Baby. Which he of course will be with all of his aunts at school! We are baby crazy people I tell ya. The sponging around the edges with choc chip ink was an afterthought. Not crazy about it and would have moved focal image down had I planned it - BUT it was to try and hide a boo boo where my card brushed up against the open burnt umber inkpad! I usually would have tried to move it but I used mono multi on this card and let me tell you once it's set - it's not movin! Thanks for looking and let me know what you buy tonight! I am definitely getting Father Knows Best and Pond life, and of course ribbon, and ink and cardstock!

Love me some PTI! Day 4

Getting this one in under the wire! Where oh where does the time go?! Too much going on today! Em over at stamping bella had free shipping this weekend so I coordinated a group of us to meet the minimum for that and I am placing a TAC order this month - gotta love double hostess benies - so I was finishing up that. Plus I had to do all the normal household Sunday stuff! And I had to go get Kaden cause it was his weekend at his donors! Anyways.........this post is a little different! My collegue Anitra is getting married in September. They are trying to save money here and there and I offered to help with the programs, invitations, favors whatever. So they decided to do cookies in cello bags with the first letter of their last name on it and then pink ribbon to tie them closed and a little tag - that's where I come in. I made up these to show her the options. I used Borders and Corners Monogram Edition with a variety of sentiments from B&C Monograms, Out on a Limb, Mixed Messages and one from MFT Essential Sentiments. So she can choose. I punched them all out and mounted on different sizes of pretty in pink cardstock. I think I need the blue marvy scallop punch too! Oh well. This will give her an idea of what we can do. Might have to throw some black in there too not sure. Oh well thanks for looking. Oh and COMMENT which one YOU like best!

PTI Countdown Day 3

Ooooh have you seen this months ribbon? How about the patterned paper? Today Nichole has Paper Pieces sketches for using patterned paper. I love sketches! So I whipped up several cards for my stash I am giving to my mom for Mother's Day using the sketches! So EASY! That's what I am sharing with you today! The base is spring moss , then a strip of the flowered pinks patterned paper, and then another strip of a pretty patterned paper and then a strip of SU twill - yes I tried twill again - still have trouble adhering it! I stamped the Birthday sentiment from mixed messages on it using Pallet noir ink. Didn't show up as well as I would have liked. Maybe Nichole will come out with some white or ivory twill for us! Cause the topnotch twill takes ink GREAT! I only have 3 strips and hers had 4 cause I made mine wider. Thanks for looking! Check back tomorrow for more PTI!

PTI Countdown Day 2

So this is a little late................ better late than never right. I was having computer issues! Sorry! This is my day 2 of my own little PTI release! This card features Out on a Limb. I debated about getting this set as I already had Take a Bough and they are so similar. But what really sold me was the sentiments in this set. It has beautiful sentiments. This card's sentiment is Every day is a Gift! I love that. I wish I could think like that every day! Anyways, the base is PTI stampers select - more to the border in a sec! The main image is stamped using pallet burnt umber then all the flowers and leaves I did using the INDIVIDUAL leaf and flower image. That is one of the reasons I LOVE Papertrey stamps. The versatility is endless. So I stamped the flowers in both sweet blush and berry sorbet and then the little outline leaf in spring moss. I made it really full of flowers like the dogwood trees here in spring. I can't wait for the dogwoods to bloom! This set with the pink flowers always reminds me of dogwoods! But I digress. The sentiment is up in the corner in spring moss. I also added some sparkle to the flowers by using my spica gelly roll stardust pen in the center and a line down each leaf. The image is matted in SU's choc chip which is the same color as Pallet's burnt umber - YAY! The border is the same colors and I just stamped before putting on the matted image. It even goes onto the back of the card a little. I've had this idea in my head for awhile and wasn't sure how it would turn out - but I LOVE it!!!! The ribbon is PTI satin ribbon in berry sorbet which is just yummmy! It is afixed to this card with about a half dozen large glue dots and several small ones as well. I am anal about getting the bow just so! Thanks for looking! Oh and since I know my friends are going to be fighting over this card - leave me a comment on this POST and I will draw to see who I send the card to! TFL! Come back for more tomorrow.

It's the 10th! Do you know what that means?

Papertrey Ink Countdown! Bedinning the 10th of every month Nichole Heady over on her blog begins the countdown to the 15th and the release of the latest Papertrey Ink stamps, and now paper, ribbon and ink as well! Check out the link in my sidebar. Seriously Nichole is one of the most talented people ever! And nothing is that complicated it's just ingenious! So I am doing a little countdown of my own for the release this month! I will have a PTI card every day until the release! Today's card is one I did a while back for Taylor VanBruggen's cupcake sketch challenge using PIF images from the set It's a Celebration. I added to the images with my Sakura stardust gelly roll pen for a little shimmer! The sentiment is from Border's and Corners Monogram Edition along with the frame around it - stamped in Berry Sorbet. I used all PTI perfect match cardstock in Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist, and Spring Moss. The ribbon is PTI's satin ribbon in Berry Sorbet. I am such a sucker for things that match perfectly - which they do IRL - not so much on my computer screen.
Thanks for looking! Check back tomorrow for more PTI!

IN Colors for a Priceless Birthday Card

I just love this card! It's using one of my fave sets Priceless. I just love this year's IN colors. Last year I was only big on Cool Carribean. And I mean who wasn't?! This year I LOVE them all. I have a multi pack of paper, all the ribbon (from a ribbon swap of course!) and all the ink pads except Blue Bayou. It's the one color I'm not crazy about. The rest I love!!!! Yes I know I mentioned that already. However I did actually use Blue Bayou for the base of this card, as well as to matte the focal image and a bit of ribbon. The 3 background panels I stamped the swirls from Pricless in Wild Wasabi and then the focal image is another swirl in Wild Wasabi and then I stamped the butterfly on the focal image and then on a scrap, cutting out the scrap to pop up on demensionals. There's also some stickles on the butterfly cause everyone loves a little bling! I didn't have a purpose when I created this card but when my dear PPPM friend Heather commented it was her fave in color combo I decided it would be her birthday card. I added a birthday sentiment inside and it is on it's way to her right now. Hopefully she will get it before she leaves for Disneyland this Saturday. So what do you think of this year's in colors? What do you think of the whole IN color idea? Have you seen the sneek peeks of next year's in colors floating around on blogs from people who went on the cruise? So far I'm not really that impressed - oh well more money for other things in the catty! Leave me a comment about your feelings on the IN colors.

Movin on up!

I made this card for my PPPM friend Anna. She just recently bought her first home! She's been moving and packing and painting and unpacking and all that goes with moving. JOY! I want to move soooooooooooooo bad. Maybe we will get that accomplished this summer! Anyhoo - I used my SU Neighboorhood wheel for this card and watercolored it by smooshing ink pads. I also got to use my new striped ribbon from a ribbon swap on SCS! I love getting ALL the ribbon - but not paying TONS of money! Card base is bashful blue, image mounted on groovy guava. Sentiment is from Warmest Regards I belive.

Some Cards for the Troops - and a card for a real trooper! ;)

One of the kindergarten teachers at school has been working with a retired military parent in sending things to a troop over in Iraq. I decided to make some simple cards to send with their next package. The images are all from PIF - a great way to get images of sets you don't have on SCS. The set is called Land that I love. They are from Ellen. The cardstock is not SU - I am using up some of my non-SU cardstock.

Ellen the one who sent me the images has hosted the last two or three can't remember rounds of PIF but fell rollerskating and broke her wrist! She had to have surgery so I am sending her this card. It is made with one of my fave sets Priceless. I think I have convinced everyone on the PPPM board to buy this set! That's all for today!

Set of Thank You Cards

A SCS friend of mine Heather is helping with a charity event and asked if I could make some cards. I of course said yes. I wanted something easy but nice. I went with Thank-You cards cause I figured that was something people would use. I pulled out Around the Block cause I was thinking about getting rid of it - well no more. I really like what I made with it! I liked the cards so much I made two sets! One for Heather's charity event and one for my mom. I am going to give her a bunch of cards to use for Mother's day. The card I am showing you is using appricot appeal. I also used more mustard and pumpkin pie. My mom loves the fallish type colors so she should like these! Very easy. I love how the chocolate chip warms them up. Image is stamped in choc chip on very vanilla. It is up on demensionals. TFL!

Someday I will be able to keep up with a blog and the rest of my life too!

I am just NOT very good at keeping up with my blog! There is so much more going on! Like school and kids and the new kitten and PIFing and well I'm sure you get the idea! Anyway last night we celebrated my hubby's birthday. So I will share the card I gave him!
This was actually a card for the featured stamper challenge over on SCS! I just love this guy - fishafella from stampingbella! I colored him with watercolor pencils and there is crystal effects on the fish to make them look wet. Black cardstock, black ribbon, Old olive, some black brads. The kraft piece has a fishing backgrounder stamped in versamark. It's just perfect for this card. I got it from someone wanting to trade on the BST threads on SCS.
Anyway - I gave it to hubby for his birthday with his fishing liscence for the year and one for me as well and a cute little fishing coupon book in it. I also made him one of his favorite dinners: country fried steak, real mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuts and corn with german chocolate cake! Thanks for stopping by. Perhaps I can post more often. Put probably not!!!!!

Who is the Krafty Mama?

Hi I'm the Krafty one! :) I'm the Queen to 2 little knights and a sweet princess. I married my knight in shining armor (kevlar) over 8 years ago and I am a REAL mom, wife and substitute teacher trying to be the best I can be! I love "krafting" but tend to buy more supplies than I actually use. I love make up, nail polish, hair products and fashion but have been known to leave the house in sweats a messy bun and no make up! I love to cook and bake but am guilty of feeding my kids McDonalds in a pinch. I love direct sales and have joined too many to mention! I would love to get to know you!
