It's Mani Monday time! Got some bad news (er not what I wanted news, I know God has a plan) Friday, so was pretty down this weekend. But I did manage to play with some polish and painted my tootsies (which will be in an upcoming post they look awesome!)
I played a bunch a couple weeks ago on a day off from school and finally rocked the Matte topcoat! Which is part of what I am sharing today!
This ended up being a much more involved mani than I originally thought but the payout was great!
Yes 6 bottles of polish for one little simple looking manicure!
I started with the Gelous base coat - this stuff is AMAZING! My mani lasts so much longer with it on! And with Julep polish we are talking WOW!
The base is Julep Alaina - one of my very first Julep polishes ever! Love it! Then Seche quick dry topcoat (so I guess actually 7 bottles of polish) which I let dry then applied the OPI matte top coat over - that my friends I think is the key! Who knew - certainly not me! I have never gotten matte topcoat to look good before this! A whole extra step but I love the matte look so totally worth it!
Then I wanted a gradient sparkly tip - not a french tip. So I used the Orly Night Owl on the tip then OPI Baby Please Come Home from the Mariah Carey Collection. That one is the sandpaper finish and I wanted a smoother finish so I tried Juleps Gianna which has big ole' flakes and chunkes of Gold which is super pretty but not what I was wanting exactly! I need a brownish/purplish glitter polish -anyone? lol I probably should have just used regular topcoat!
Anyway...I do rally like how they turned out! My next big mani skill is going to be polka dots! - Stay tuned!
