For this week's mani I decided to do a fall tree accent with dot tips. It was super fun! I think I need more thing brushes instead of using my dotting tools though so those are the next supply on my list!

All I did was paint a base of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons and then created a Tree with a Sinful Colors brown using my dotting tool. I then dotted using different polishes including Zoya, and Julep as well as Sinful for the "leaves" and tip dots. My nails are painfully short right now :(. I think it's the change in seasons getting colder here!! My cuticles are a mess too! What are your favorite nail growth and cuticle products?

Today starts my second week of subbing in 6th grade. Last week was good we will see if it continues! Kids are doing great! 

Well yesterday was my birthday and today I started a new long term position in 6th grade at one of our brand new schools Carden Park Elementary. I am nervous about 6th grade (mostly math) but excited for the opportunity!

This week I have the perfect Fall Mani Color for you! I don't really like orange but I love this color!

It's Tatiana from Julep and it is like the perfect Autumn Blazing Sunset color! I just love it!

This shot was inside but still so pretty!!! Look how it reflects the light!

Then this shot is out side (at a freezing cold soccer game, I am so glad the season is over!) I think it is just stunning! What do you think?

Oh my goodness! How is it October 6th already? First off I wanna wish my middle child a very happy birthday today! He is 7 and I love him so much! He had a sleepover birthday party Friday night and it was great! He received Disney Infinity 2.0 and several of the Marvel characters so he was super excited! Then we had soccer yesterday and mom and I went to the Josephine Expo here in town. Yesterday I made a big crock pot of chili! The temperatures dropped Friday and look like they might stay that way for a while! Fall is definitely in the air! 

Today I am sharing with you a great fall mani and one of my favorite manis ever! 

I started with a base of this super fabulous Orly rust called Pink Chocolate! How fun is that name?

Then I applied these chevron vinyls from UpYourNail.com I love her vinyls! She has all kinds of designs as well as a polish store! I ran across her on Instagram and decided to try some vinyls out! They shipped super fast and worked great! The price is great too!

I then painted over the vinyls with Orly's Oui. I love love love this color! It is on my toes and I love it! So sparkly but such a pretty fall color. I didn't realize how much purple was in it until I put it on over these white vinyls! It just screams fall leaves to me or a fall sunset!

I removed the vinyls, applied topcoat and this is the end result! I love it!

Quick mani for you today!

I used three Julep polishes. The beautiful coral is Veronica so pretty and great color all year long! Lorenzana which is a nice pale neutral, would be something I would use for an interview if you have seen my instagram and blog Interview nail posts! And Hilary the pretty brown glitter.

I painted my ring finger with Lorenzana and the rest of my nails Veronica and then put Hilary on top of Lorenzana. Quick and easy!

We are inching towards fall here in the Midwest and as much as I love summer, fall is a VERY close second. The colors, football, pumpkins, my birthday, hayrides, jeans and hoodies I just love fall and so here is a fall manicure to get you in the mood!

It uses this Essie color which I believe is Merino Wool but the sticker came off so I am not 100% sure. I used a matte top coat on it (which I seem to have issues with - do you use regular top coat THEN matte?) 

Then I added a large dot at the base of OPI's Love Angel Music Baby which is a pretty satin finish gold! I did an accent nail with it as well! So pretty!

What do you love about fall?

My biggest issue with manicures is always tip wear and chipping (which tends to occur at the tips). So today I am sharing what I do to extend my mani and not have to completely redo it!

Some ideas are;

1. add a glitter layer over the whole nail when tip wear occurs

2. Add dots and try to cover chips

3. Add a gradient or glitter just to tips

4. use vinyl to add a contrasting tip

Of all of these my favorite is adding glitter to the tips.

The colors I am showing in this post are both Julep. The gold is Oscar which is probably my fave Gold Glitter ever and Colette a beautiful regal dark purple with a shimmer.

After a few days my nails had chipped and especially with a dark color like this it shows so I went and added glitter to the tips to extend it until I had time to re-do the manicure!

My stamping/FB friend Jimmi Mayo posted about this Sally Hansen miracle gel nail polish, so of course I HAD to try it! I am lucky if I can get my nail polish to last 4 days!!! And I can't afford gel and I found it wrecks my nails! So I was eager to try it!

I found it at Target and there was even a coupon on Cartwheel for it! WIN!

I thought it was VERY thin, this is after one coat.

After two coats, 

even after 3 coats I didn't feel the coverage was adequate.

So I did 4 coats! Which is more than I am used to but it doesn't have to cure under a lamp ever so that's a plus.

This is after 4 coats and top coat. It is a very pretty color and the BEST part it lasted 4 days before I noticed tip wear and a good 7 days before it was in need of changing!

It came off super easy!!! I will definitely be getting more colors! I wonder if a shimmer color would need less coats. I am also going to try Revlon's gel! I will let you know how it goes!
