I need life to sllllllllllloooooooooowwwwwwwww down a bit! But since I don't see it doing that...here's a super fast Hip Hop Hangover post!

This is the card I whipped up for my brother's birthday! It uses the relatively new set from Unity by the owner Angela called This is the Time! I just love it! I used Worn Grid on the background cause I think it goes so well with this image! This also uses this week's Unity Sketch! TFL!

I needed a mojo kick in the pants yesterday as far as cards go - I seem to have trouble switching back and forth if I do too many of one or the other?!?!?! Anyhoo ~ I decided to check out the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. It is my goal to BE the featured stampers someday! I was thrilled to see it was JulieHRR - she is amazing! She does KISS (keep it simple silly) better than just about anyone! I knew I wanted to do a birthday card ~ trying to stock up! I found my inspiration on the FIRST page of her amazing gallery! I whipped this out real quick! I embossed the top of my cupcake and it took several layers - I don't know if it's my EP which is ancient btw or what but I just dont get good coverage with my white! I also broke out some of my untoched *gasp* lavendar moon and plum pudding PTI cardstock - hey I've been doing Christmas cards alright? This is what I came up with!

Looking at it now I wish the Lavendar Moon panel was narrower but *eh* it's a finished card! TFL! Check back tomorrow for your Tipster Tuesday!

I hope everyone has a GREAT World Card Making Day and gets some quality stampin time! This day has an extra special meaning to me. You see last year on WCMD (Oct. 6) I was all set to work on assembling all but the crucial info and pics for the baby boy I was expecting. Well that and catch some good sales! Blake had a different plan! Around 1 pm my water broke however I was having no contractions or pain of any kind so I wasn't SURE it was my water. I ran to Target and some other errands during which my water started GUSHING! I made it home and told Andrew this was it and we got to the hospital around 4 pm. Blake was born at 7:00 pm on the dot! So I will always think of my baby on WCMD no matter what day it falls!

Here are a couple of cards to share with you today!

This card is my baby's birthday card for his party today! More about that later! I made this using Simple Birthday Thanks - you know that BIG cupcake! I love this stamp but hadn't used it yet! I paper pieced the top by stamping in white craft ink onto some patterned paper. I stamped the cherry on pure pom cardstock and the base on bashful blue and flipped it over after cutting it out and ran it through my paper crimper ~ which I think is maybe the 2nd time I've EVER used it! I stickled the cherry with Diamond stickles and the spots on the cupcake with Baby Blue stickles - also used those in the punched out area from the ticket corner punch. I tied some choc chip twill around the base and some bashful blue taffeta ribbon too!

This card is for one of the WCMD challenges on SCS! It was a sketch challenge and I {heart} a good sketch! This is old DP called Apple Cider - I really like it! The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and then embossed with COPPER ep! I don't know where it came from but I think it's perfect for this card! I punched that out and layered with more Apple Cider DP and ran some River Rock stiched ribbon through it! I added some cream DMC floss to the choc chip buttons and put one on each panel. Have you heard? There's some DIRTY business going on over at SCS! It's the Dare to get Dirty challenge week! An elite group of 12 stampers work each month do design special themed cards and projects for the fan club gallery! Only SCS members that are members of the Fan Club can see their uploads. They are known as the Dirty Dozen. The group rotates adding two new members every month. Well in July there is a special week of challenges hosted by the Dirty girls! If you aren't a fan club member NOW is the perfect time to join! So one of today's challenges was issued by Jody Morrow - the ribbon goddess - as I call her! Her challenge was to choose your ribbon (surprise) and design your card around it! I have had this polka-dot ribbon forever! It was new on the roll with the plastic still! I let it guide everything the polka-dot cupcakes, the colors - BRIGHT - especially for me! And the large pink brads. I colored the images with my SU markers and they are raised up on glue dots. I made the sentiment the focus of this card punching it out in an oval shape and layering it on a scalloped circle. I have a friend I haven't given her birthday stuff to yet so she's getting this card - she likes bright stuff! Thanks for looking!!!!

Papertrey Ink Countdown! Bedinning the 10th of every month Nichole Heady over on her blog begins the countdown to the 15th and the release of the latest Papertrey Ink stamps, and now paper, ribbon and ink as well! Check out the link in my sidebar. Seriously Nichole is one of the most talented people ever! And nothing is that complicated it's just ingenious! So I am doing a little countdown of my own for the release this month! I will have a PTI card every day until the release! Today's card is one I did a while back for Taylor VanBruggen's cupcake sketch challenge using PIF images from the set It's a Celebration. I added to the images with my Sakura stardust gelly roll pen for a little shimmer! The sentiment is from Border's and Corners Monogram Edition along with the frame around it - stamped in Berry Sorbet. I used all PTI perfect match cardstock in Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist, and Spring Moss. The ribbon is PTI's satin ribbon in Berry Sorbet. I am such a sucker for things that match perfectly - which they do IRL - not so much on my computer screen.
