Sweet Dreams

Here is a layout I did for a NSD challenge. It was a fun layout to do and took me outside my comfort zone as I used glimmer mist, washi tape, stickles, bling, and more to create this!

I used an old Echo Park Collection called Everyday Eclectic

Here is a close up of some journaling and ink and paint and bling!

The cloud stickers came with the collection and I popped them up on foam dots. The camera I punched out of a piece of patterned paper and used crackle accents on to create my own lil embellishment. This also shows the Washi tape - might be my first time actually using it on a layout!

What do you think?

National Scrapbook Day and a sketch!!!

Have you been enjoying iNational Scrapbook Day?
I have been crazy busy with the boys' soccer and we got a new kitten (pics to come soon). However I did have a bit of time to scrap and managed to come up with a sketch and this layout for a challenge tomorrow on Facebook. But I wanted to share it with my blog readers first!!!!

What do you think of the sketch??!?!?!? Fun? So many ideas with all those embellies!

Here is what I came up with.

Here is a close up of the embellishments on the right!

Hmmm since it is National Scrapbook Day how about a little PRIZE for linking up your creating with the sketch? Please make sure to link back to my blog and you have until next Saturday!

Simple Stories Layout

Last night my two best scrappy friends and I had a scrapbook sleepover! In the past we have done this on occasion but it is my goal to do it once a month this year!
We met once over our break from school and then again so I would say we are off to a good start. We all bring food and drinks and stay up late watching chick flicks and scrapping! It is good for my soul!
Here is one layout I accomplished.

I am so happy with this layout because these are OLD pictures! Kaden is just over a year old here! I am so pleased to finally have them scrapped! I used old Simple Stories - one of their first 3 lines in fact from when they were still exclusive to Memory Works. I fell in love instantly with Simple Stories and they are still one of my favorite brands today! This was a Scrapbook Generation one page sketch that I followed pretty closely. I punched the circles at the bottom out and then sewed a line through them and folded them up to give more dimension. Overall very pleased with this layout - and the fact that I am scrapping again!

Stockings - Doodlebug and Hero Arts

Woo hoo another layout! This is actually the one for the sketch I picked LAST month for my little challenge with my friend Cheri. It is THIS sketch from Practical Scrappers. I changed it up just a bit by having 5 evenly spaced same size pieces in the background and only one rectangle matte. Also my three pictures are same size. They are phone pics cause we started Christmas morning WAY to early this year! Like 5 am! Ava was sick and I slept in the chair with her! Poor baby not fair to be sick on your first Christmas!
I used Doodlebug Designs North Pole Collection, Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Stocking stamp which was an Archivers Exclusive! I added some buttons that I tied a bit of PIT Bakers twine through, a poinsettia with a red SU bling brad in the center and the font for the title is Black Boys on Mopeds which I cut with my Cameo~!

Get Your Scrap On!

...with VSBN, well actually it's over but you can participate in challenges and upload until this Sunday, February 8th! I had so much fun and finished 4 layouts, plus part of two others!
I won 2 prizes too! Plus there will be more prizes given to participants for various challenges!
So come on what are you waiting for? Find out all the information HERE.

Here is one of the layouts I completed this weekend. Sorry for the bad photo my camera was having issues! This was for Lynn's (yes the Unity Designer) challenge. It's Elementary!

This was a super fun challenge! This was the challenge - use as many "letters" as possible:
Use the following as your guide when creating your layout and try to include as many “letters” as you can.
S … is for STAMPING! Show me how you incorporate stamps onto your scrapbook pages.
C … is for CHIPBOARD! .
R … is for RIBBON, floss, thread, whatever!
A … is for ALPHAS (stickers, rub-ons, etc).
P … is for PATTERNED PAPER! Use at least two or three different
patterned papers on your layout to add lots of visual interest. (My friend Natalie about had a heart attack about this one - she has issues with patterned papers!)
B … is for BUTTONS!
O … is for ONE, Two, Three … as in numbers!
O … is for … well … O! As in CIRCLES …
K … is for “KUDOS” to you for taking part in this challenge
and getting another page done in the process!

Well I used several of the letters - see my problem is I read the challenge get it in my head - print off the sketch if there is one - this one there WAS - and it was fab!
And go to work! I don't always remember the challenge EXACTLY and sometimes I forget things especially when there's lots to remember like this one!!
Oh well I am still happy with the page and thrilled I did a page from our Honeymoon to Maui!
This page is of us arriving at our hotel and the goodies at the hotel! It was so amazing!
And I DID manage to use 3 different patterned papers from 3 different manufacturers!!!
I don't have an issue with patterns but I thought that was pretty impressive!
This was the first time I used the strips for my journaling - I LOVE IT!
and don't those Pink Paislee alphas match Pacific Point wonderfully?!?!?!

Tools:
CS: Pacific Point, Lime Green American Crafts
PP: Rhonda Farrer, WRMK Summer Collection for Archivers, Scenic Route
Ink: Versamark
Stamps: $1 Flip Flop stamp from Michaels
Accessories: Flowers and Glitter brads WRMK Summer Collection for Archivers, Pink Paislee alphas, Computer generated journaling cut into strips

Sweet Baby

This is a layout for my last month as a Review Team member for Serendipity Scrapbooks. I received the Melissa Frances baby GIRL (?!?) kit but found that most of the papers in it were suitable for either gender. The base for this layout is one of the papers and well as the scalloped journaling tag in the bottom right corner. The scalloped edge and large bracket are grey American Crafts cs which PERFECTLY matched some grey fabric thickers I had!!!!! The twill across the page near the bottom is from Taylor Vanbruggen's store. The circle by the title I made with my JustRite stamper! Those little alphas are TINY! But it was so much fun creating my custom embellishment! It has his name and birthdate on it. I used the TNR font and tiny alpha on the wood stamper stamped it twice in Going Grey ink once on white cs and once on the blue. Punched them out and layered them! The journaling reads: Just hours old and already so totally wrapped in the love of your family.

Tools:
PP and Tag: Melissa Frances Baby Girl Kit available at Serendipity Scrapbooks
CS: White and Bashful Blue by SU, Grey by American Crafts
Stamps: Just Rite stamper
Ink: Basic Grey
Tools: Threading Water punch, circle punches
Other: Pale blue twill from Taylored Expressions, Grey Fabric Thickers

It's VSBN Weekend!!!!!

Let's get ready to SCRAP!

We are right in the middle of VSBN weekend. The challenges started last night and continue through tomorrow. So head on over to SCS and get your scrap on! It has been a lot of work coordinating this but with the help of my new friend Jenn it has gone really well! We made some changes and tried some new things and I hope everyone is enjoying themselves and getting lots of layouts done!
I did one challenge for this weekend, a team spirit challenge which is a color combo challenge based on a football team's colors - so of course I had to go with my KC Chiefs! Here is my LO for an example.

This is my son on his first day of Pre-School at Miss Jane's! He was EXCITED to say the least! We were so lucky that our sitter Trina is able to pick him and another little girl up from pre-school the one day a week that they go! This is based on a sketch that was on Totally Random a while back. I thought it was cool but couldn't share it till now cause it was for my challenge! If you want to check out VSBN click HERE!

Tools:
CS: Red AC, Basic Black, Close to Cocoa from SU, PTI Summer Sunrise
PP: School Print from Michaels
Ink: Whisper White and Black journaling pen
Stamps: Tart and Tangy
Other: Jumbo Eyelets, Red button, PTI Summer Sunrise double stitched ribbon, MM tiny alphas in black on white and white on black, Pre-School cs stickers from HL, other white cs alphas

Friday Night Scraps - Homecoming

Tonight is my turn to host Friday Night Scraps leading up to the SUPERBOWL OF SCRAP over at SCS. My challenge is called HOMECOMING.

Every high school and college that play football has it - Homecoming - that one special game where the hype is 10 times the others. The community comes out in full force and former students and especially players come back to support their alma mater!
Homecoming isn't just the game it's the spirit week with crazy theme days, the parade, the pep rally, the bonfire, the homecoming court and the dance!
Tonight is both the school district I work for GO SAVAGES, and the high school I went to GO BLUE JAYS, homecoming.
We have had spirit week all week leading up to today. School let out early and everyone heads to main street for the parade!
It is some of my favorite memories from both high school and college - homecoming week!

Ok for my layout...
This layout was inspired by the cover of a Simple Scrapbooks mag - September I think. The colors were drawn from the dimensional title.
The base is brown American Crafts CS - love this stuff! The journaling is on PTI Summer Sun cs and I used my threading water punch along the bottom and faux stitched a straight stitch at the top. The DP is SEI which I used my slit punch to create scalloped edges at the top and bottom. I doodled around it. I matted the picture of our house on Tempting Turquoise and faux stitched to look like XX's around it.
I tied some PTI spring moss twill across it making a bow and the Title is from Michaels and I used the MM multicolor on white tiny alphas - I am obsessed with those! TFL and come play with us HERE!

Wedding Day LO

This layout was for my Serendipity Scrapbooks, Sketch-a-pa-looza, challenge this weekend. It is a "chalkboard" challenge. Since I'm a teacher and for back to school I am challenging everyone to create a layout using Black and White with only ONE accent color. There are some EXTRA challenges if you wanna head over to the crop forum HERE. They include a sketch, photo option, and a cool technique with a step by step tutorial! So about the layout. These are photos of my son at MY wedding. He was almost 2 and was our ring bearer. It was a very special day for all of us! He stole the show throwing the pillow down the aisle and then later tearing it up on the dance floor! I used a transparency on the bottom middle photo to focus in on him. I also got to try out Ghost Letters finally! Very fun! I inked up the edges with Stazon for a cool effect. A simple layout but with all those photos I didn't want to overcrowd it! I also used my Making Memories tiny alphas - I {heart} those little booggers!!!!!
This is a close up of the top left corner where I followed the scallop for the date and his age. And isn't that a great pic of him and my dad?! It's the only picture that his flower made it into!!!! It didn't last very long! Well thanks for looking and go check out my challenge and the others for some scrappy inspiration this weekend! Heck you might even win something!

Tools:
PP: unknown
CS: Bazzill
Overlay -hmmm Hambly I think
Stamps: Simple Delights
Ink: White Craft, Stazon, Black Journaling Marker
Other: Ribbon from Wedding Aisle at HL, Circle Punch, MM Tiny alphas white on black, Heidi Swapp Ghost Letters

Who is the Krafty Mama?

Hi I'm the Krafty one! :) I'm the Queen to 2 little knights and a sweet princess. I married my knight in shining armor (kevlar) over 8 years ago and I am a REAL mom, wife and substitute teacher trying to be the best I can be! I love "krafting" but tend to buy more supplies than I actually use. I love make up, nail polish, hair products and fashion but have been known to leave the house in sweats a messy bun and no make up! I love to cook and bake but am guilty of feeding my kids McDonalds in a pinch. I love direct sales and have joined too many to mention! I would love to get to know you!
