Project Life - My Way

I have been curious about project life/pocket scrapbooking for some time now. Actually since I was a Memory Works rep when Simple Stories was first launched so how long ago was that?

I knew I wouldn't do a two page spread for every week - I think it's cool the people that do but it's just not for me! I also knew I wouldn't go strictly pocket pages! I love my traditional scrapbooking WAY too much! I had the same problem with digi scrapping - love the ease and no mess but miss my paper! I still make digi elements to use and for my classroom all the time!

I sort my pictures on my computer by year and then by month so I decided why not do a monthly page in our Family album? Well and then I would of course need an intro page to each year too, which works cause January is a pretty slow month for us (after Christmas and all!). The more I thought about it the better it sounded, they would be quick and easy and help organize stuff for the kids layouts/albums! I love it!

So I bought the pages, and a TON of Simple Stories SNAP items and the Midnight Kit and Blush kit! LOL!

I am going to do 2012 (just made that decision while doing this page), 2013 and forward this way! Super excited about it! Might go back and do other years this way too - we shall see! I started by using month cards and putting them in protectors blocking off each month - I am finding this might not actually work due to picture layout amount of pictures etc! But for now I am going with it!

I am going to do a few pocket pages of events with tons of pictures here and there too such as the zoo, soccer, etc.

So on to the actual layout (is it still called a layout?)

I used Simple Stories Snap Life Basics for the 2013. I cut the numbers on my Cameo then punched the edge with a paper border punch and backed them with lined paper from the same basics pack. The 3 graphic elements I created in Photoshop. The 5 has our names watermarked over it. And then a family picture of us which I need to reprint cause for some reason there is white on the edges! Overall I am super duper happy with it! I completed it last night while scrapping with my two best scrappy friends! I also completed another 8 pages! That's what I call a successful night of scrapping!

What do you think?
Do you pocket scrapbook at all?
Do project life?
I would love to hear what you do and how it works for you!

Who is the Krafty Mama?

Hi I'm the Krafty one! :) I'm the Queen to 2 little knights and a sweet princess. I married my knight in shining armor (kevlar) over 8 years ago and I am a REAL mom, wife and substitute teacher trying to be the best I can be! I love "krafting" but tend to buy more supplies than I actually use. I love make up, nail polish, hair products and fashion but have been known to leave the house in sweats a messy bun and no make up! I love to cook and bake but am guilty of feeding my kids McDonalds in a pinch. I love direct sales and have joined too many to mention! I would love to get to know you!
