LEt it be known (if it's not already) I am kinda obsessed with candy corn. I love love love love candy corn!So this year since getting into nail art I HAD to do a Candy Corn Inspired Manicure!!!
I decided to go for a glittery sponged look. I even used some glow in the dark polish making it extra fun!!!To start I painted all my nails white then used a makeup brush dipped in glue to go around my nails for easier clean up.
I then applied Julep Dahlia , Zoya Beatrix and Julep Casper to a cosmetic sponge and applied it to my nail. I did this twice for better coverage.
Here is a close up of the cosmetic sponge - that is the correct color order for candy corn btw ;).
This is what they look like after sponging. I would make the stripes of color smaller if my nails were as short next time.
Here is the whole hand after clean up. They look very bumpy and textured but it's not really that bad.
And another shot. They look better in person I think. They did not photograph well.

Thanks! I love anything candy corn!
DeleteGreat job!! I love gradients, and with a candy corn design? Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteMy gradients get bumpy too. I find that it's because I don't wait long enough between coats, so some of the polish kind of sticks off the nail and back onto the sponge. Does that make sense? I sure hope so (it's early here, haha). When I wait longer between coats, I usually get a smoother finish. That, or I just keep adding top coat. Haha! Thanks of linking up!
Thanks for the tip! I am sure glitter polish makes that worse!
