If you have read or seen the Polar Express then you know what I am talking about, if you haven't GET ON IT!!!! Of course I recommend the book but I am a teacher and all so ya know! The movie is great too but my students drive me nuts with that's not how it is in the movie! GRRRR! The book was first! If it weren't for the book there wouldn't BE a movie! Parents please explain this to your children! Read them the BOOK! Ok done with my rant!
The card ~ this is for Lauren Meader's Saturday Sketch and OCCC challenge to use snowmen or snowflakes. Very non-traditional colors! But I love the look of this!!!! The santa is an amazing image I got from Wish-Rak it is by Rubber Stampede and sells for over $25 on ebay! I love Wish RAK! I stickled his beard and and the punched out snowflake. The CS is American Crafts Christmas collection, the patterned paper is Imaginesce. I added just a little color to him the eyes and cheeks. The ribbon is from SU's retired beachfront originals - it is very stiff! worked for this very well! the snowflake punch is marth stewart - I hate to admit it but I really like some of her punches! I am on the hunt for the Pine Branch Spring one right now! I did a little paper piercing around the snowflake and stamped BELIEVE in choc chip under the image - it is from PTI's Believe set! This is NOT one of my mass produced cards! I had been working on those and needed a break!

Tessa, this card is gorgeous!!! Love that Santa... my email for the Limelight challenge is stampmaniac at gmail dot com... I spelled it out in the post, to hopefully avoid spam (which is probably why you couldn't find it!) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLove him! Handsome Santa ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors you used too!
I love that image as well! Very cool color combo...I like the non-traditional Holiday Combos!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! Wait until they are middle school age (I teach 7th/8th) and write based on movies rather than books, take AR tests on movies, and other creative methods of learning!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the card. It is a beautiful image.
I love this stamp, too--should've bought it when I had the chance...LOVE the sparkly beard! :D
